Hill End has been providing quality residential experiences for children of all ages for decades and we strongly believe in the positive outcomes for students – for their learning, confidence and life skills.
We understand that it is often difficult for schools to find time to arrange these trips and all the activities that go with them, so we offer a range of tailor-made packages (accommodation, catering and activities) that take the stress out of planning a school residential! Choose from:
- The wild sleepover (in the characterful High Dormitory)
- The campout sleepover (in our beautiful Bell tents)
- The summer stayaway – stay for one, two or three nights (dormitories or tents, your choice!)
For schools that prefer to do things themselves, self-catering and self-led trips are very cost-effective and are always welcome – see our accommodation and kitchen buildings to build your perfect residential.
The wild sleepover @ Hill End
Our sleepover packages have been hugely popular! We are pleased to offer the wild sleepover again in 2023 – a one-night residential spending the night in our lovely historic High Dorm, wonderfully located at the top of Hill End.
What will we do?
Perfect as a first sleepover experience, you will stay in an historic timber dormitory with BBQ and campfire facilities. Think camping barn! Bring your sleeping bag, and picnic crockery and cutlery for meals. Enjoy fun outdoor activities led by our expert tutors and then relax in the evening with a campfire with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows. This package is most suitable for students in KS1, KS2 and KS3.

This package cost includes accommodation, two tutor-led outdoor activities, resource packs and catering – help-yourself breakfast, packed lunch and BBQ dinner (if you prefer to cater for some of your own meals, please ask us for a revised quote).

The campout sleepover @ Hill End
Is your school looking to celebrate the end of a term, an exam period, or just planning a getaway into the great outdoors?
This 1 night residential package is based in our lovely bell-tent village and designed for a class to get together, reconnect with nature and have tent-loads of fun in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside!
What will we do?
Your tent will be ready for your arrival in the afternoon – just bring your sleeping bag, roll mat and picnic crockery and cutlery for meals. Enjoy fun outdoor activities led by our expert tutors and then relax in the evening with a campfire with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows. This package is most suitable for students in KS1, KS2 and KS3.
The accommodation for this package is a number of large bell-tents for children, plus two tents for male and female staff with campbeds. We can adapt tents to suit your numbers. We have have modern outdoor showers and toilets and a firepit.
This package cost includes accommodation, two tutor-led outdoor activities, resource packs and catering – help-yourself breakfast, packed lunch and BBQ dinner (if you prefer to cater for some of your own meals, please ask us for a revised quote).

The summer stayaway @ Hill End
Our new packages take the fuss out of planning a great residential trip – choose either a characterful dormitory or fabulous bell tent – for one, two, three nights or more! These packages include accommodation, use of a kitchen and dining/classroom building, tutor-led outdoor sessions and fun resource packs for self-led activities.
What will we do?
Stay with us for a few days and immerse yourself in our beautiful surroundings – enjoy a fun and exciting programme of activities hand-picked by our staff to suit your ages and the season. We’re sure you’ll love it – or we are very happy to lead bespoke activities if there are things you’d particularly like to do during your stay. We work with a caterer to provide delicious meals, BBQs and hot meals to refuel your group.
The accommodation for this package is either a dormitory or our bell-tents – your choice! – together with a kitchen and dining/classroom area ideal as your base and for any wet weather indoor classroom or social activities.
This package cost includes accommodation, kitchen and dining/social space, two tutor-led outdoor activities, resource packs and catering – help-yourself breakfast, packed lunch and BBQ dinner (if you prefer to cater for some of your own meals, please ask us for a revised quote).
