Would you like to get work experience and training to help you find employment?
This July our CanDo course is starting at Hill End. Learners will get the opportunity to gain experience in area such as:
- horticulture and grounds maintenance
- hospitality, including a focus on the housekeeping skills needed to work in hotels etc.
Help will be available on topics such as career exploration and applying for a job, with the chance to achieve an accreditation in Employability.
The course will take place 1 day per week for approx. 12 weeks, starting July, but you can join anytime in 2017. All learner costs are funded and there is no charge… this is due to funding received from the European Social Fund and the Skills Funding Agency.
Are there any transport arrangements?
We will be able to help individuals with reasonable transport costs to attend the course. The best public transport solution is by bus (more details). Whilst this doesn’t go direct to the site, we can organise pick-ups from the bus stop. If there is enough demand we may try to arrange a pick-up point from central Oxford.
What days of the week will the course run?
On Wednesdays. There will be an additional day from September, but it’s not been confirmed which day yet.
How accessible is the site?
The site is 65 acres of countryside (on a signifcant slope) and so there are areas which are hard to access. However we will do our best to accommodate anyone with disabilites and would welcome you to join us.
