Forest Tuesday and Friday Sessions
Weekly Forest School sessions
We run two sessions each Tuesday and Friday, 9.30am-11.30am and 12.15pm-2.15pm
An experienced Forest School Leader will be on hand to support and guide each week. All resources and refreshments are included. Parents/carers are to accompany all children.
£8 per child per session (free for accompanying siblings if under 18 months). Booking is done online through our website www.hill-end.org/booking then select ‘Family Events’.
What is it?
Our Forest Days are based on the principles of Forest School where the children learn by playing and exploring their natural environment. This approach helps children become more independent and develops their social and physical skills. The activities are led by what the children are interested in and are not directed by the adults. We are there to help them if they need it but not to direct what they are doing.
What will they do?
The activities will take place partly in an exclusive wooded part of the Hill End site, we will also make use of the main site at times. Your child will be able to:
- Climb trees
- Play in the mud
- Build dens
- Listen to stories around the fire, tell their own stories
- Search for bugs, slow worms and other minibeasts
- Make things from sticks
- Have fun in the mud kitchen
- And go wherever their imagination takes them….
Dates for the new term are now available. You can book for individual sessions or the whole term. We have dates in June and July currently but more dates will be added soon. Do watch out for Summer Holiday dates.
Please get in touch if you have any further questions. Once a booking is made we will send out an information sheet.
