What is it?
Our Forest Friday days are based on the principles of Forest School where the children learn by playing and exploring their natural environment. This approach helps children become more independent and develops their social and physical skills. The activities are led by what the children are interested in and are not directed by the adults. We are there to help them if they need it but not to direct what they are doing.
We ask that families sign up for the 5 week block to allow their children to build on their learning from week to week. This also allows them to gain confidence in the surroundings and develop a relationship with the natural world.
What will they do?
The activities will take place in an exclusive wooded part of the Hill End site. Your child will be able to:
- Climb trees
- Play in the mud
- Build dens
- Listen to stories around the fire, tell their own stories
- Search for bugs, slow worms and other minibeasts
- Make things from sticks
- Play in the mud kitchen
- And go wherever their imagination takes them….
Dates for the new term are: 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th September and 6th October (5 weeks)
Payment is for all 5 sessions in advance.
You will need to book in advance through the Hill End office. Please get in touch if you have any further questions or need an application form.
