We are very grateful to Oxford University’s Wytham Woods and Environmental Sustainability Team for funding a project to fence the meadows at Hill End Outdoor Education Centre. Hill End is part of the Wytham Woods Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and has the largest wildflower meadows on the Wytham Estate.
We appreciate your support of this important initiative which will allow us to use sufficient stocking levels to manage the grass for floristic diversity and maintain one of the few remaining wildflower rich meadows in Oxfordshire.
We welcome this opportunity to play our part in the Local Nature Recovery Strategy, being good custodians of our SSSI and being a jewel in the crown of the Oxford University Green Estate. Hill End has about 24,000 visiting school children and youth groups who will enjoy and learn about the meadows in all their floristic glory for many years to come.
