What do you do at Hill End?
I am an external tutor at Hill End working with school groups including leading the WWI living history day and work experience programmes for unemployed adults. I am the secretary for the “Friends of Hill End” and volunteer on Wednesdays as part of the fantastic volunteer team.
How long have you been at Hill End?
I first came to Hill End in 1985 as a teacher and over the years have brought school groups on residential visits. I have been a tutor here since September 2016.
Background
Over thirty years’ experience in Primary education from Head teacher to class teacher with most of that time as a Deputy Head teacher. I have always enjoyed getting children learning outdoors.
Best memory at Hill End
A glorious sunny evening one May when there were more than 70 children from my school with the teachers and adults. They were all happily involved in all their chosen activities before sitting around a camp fire as the sun went down.
